Whether you're after an action-packed adventure or would prefer to take things at a more relaxed pace on your stay at Villa Miela, we can tailor-make the perfect holiday. Hiking
Whether or not you're an experienced walker, we offer a selection of gorgeous hikes, some
beginning right at Villa Miela. Below are just a few examples.
Caves and pools: 3-4 hour guided hike to Obod "bat" Cave taking in natural waterfalls and fresh-water swimming pools
as well as a 14th century printing press in Obod village. Includes packed lunch and transport. Grade: easy, some
rocky inclines.
Walnut valley: 4-5 hour guided hike through the Orahovo Valley's beautiful walnut tree forests, riverside trails and old
Roman caravan paths, with wild swimming in river rock pools. Includes lunch with a village family and transport. Grade: easy to moderate.
Fortified village to magic beach: 3-5 hour guided hike to the top of Mt. Sutorman, passing through the renowned medieval wine cellars of
Upper Godinje and down to Pješačac for the option sundowners on a private beach, with a return to
Virpazar by boat (you pay the owners direct). Includes packed lunch and transport. Grade: easy to moderate.
Ottoman caravan trail: 4-5 hour hike from the stunning watermills of Poseljani to the ancient royal residence of
Rijeka Crnojević, via the old caravan trails once used by Turkish traders. After lunch at a local restaurant, we
ferry you back to Virpazar by private boat. Includes lunch and transport. Grade: easy to moderate*

Kayaking
There's no finer way to experience the true majesty of the lake than by kayak - and it's "eco" too.
Fortresses and island prison: A gentle guided paddle from Virpazar's waterlilies to the ruins of Lesendro Fortress and the
ancient island prison of Grmožur, including packed lunch, or make it a whole day with lunch and R&R on the private beach
at Pješačac.
Grade: easy to moderate - 4-5 hours paddling time.
Birding and culture: A circular paddle from Virpazar to the bird reserve of Manastirska Tapija, circumnavigating the hills of Vranjina and passing a second
great birding spot at the Morača delta before returning to Virpazar. Swimming, drinks pit-stop and packed lunch included.
Grade: moderate to challenging - 5-6 hours paddling time.
Island monastaries: A guided trip around the lake's unique island monastries and freshwater beaches at Murići, including
packed lunches and lots of swimming in the lake's clearest - and quietest - waters. Grade: easy - 3-4 hours paddling time.
Majestic serpentines: An incredible guided paddle from the picturesque village of Karuč to Rijeka Crnojevića via the stunning
serpentine channels of Pavlova Strana, one of Montenegro's most famous vistas. Includes packed lunch and transport, with the option of
dinner at a local restaurant (you pay them direct). Grade: moderate to challenging - up to 8 hours paddling time.*

Mountain Biking
Lake Skadar's winding roads and caravan trails are ideal for cycling. We provide mountain bikes, helmets, an info pack with maps and cycle notes, emergency support and pick-ups / drop-offs for non-circular routes.
Wine country tour: Take a 20km round-trip from Villa Miela through Crmnica Valley wine-country! We'll even meet you to help translate at
recommended local wineries for tastings. Includes packed lunch, cycle notes and bicycles.
Grade: easy to moderate
Southern shores: Cling to the awesome mountain roads leading down the lake's southern shores from Virpazar to the village of Murići,
taking in the famous islet monastaries on a 25km ride. Includes packed lunch, cycle notes, transfers and bicycles, with the option
of staying overnight in the rustic huts at Murić for a small supplement. Grade: moderate
Serpentine challenge: Admire breath-taking views across the hairpin bends of the lakeside roads on a 30km ride from Rijeka Crnojevića to
Virpazar. Includes packed lunch, cycle notes, transfers and bicycles. Grade: challenging

Boat Cruises and Car Safaris
These private guided tours combine jaw-dropping scenery with visits to remote, lakeside villages untouched
by the modern world. Perfect for photography enthusiasts and culture vultures.
Explore and discovery day: Jaw-dropping scenery awaits you on this car safari including a 2 hour hike. You'll visit lakeside villages that wouldn't look out of place on the plains of Africa, hidden
rockpools, bat-caves and historic ruins, with lunch at a former royal residence. Includes lunch and transport
Car/boat combi tour: A guided drive from Virpazar to Rijeka Crnojevića along the lake's
northern shores, before lunch and an unforgettable journey by boat back along the serpentine bends of Pavlova Strana
back to Virpazar, via the watermill village of Poseljani.*
Lake cruise: Take a leisurely day-long trip out onto the lake's mirrored waters in a private motor launch.
You'll get to see the former island prison of Grmožur, Pješačac private beach, several divine
swimming spots and the island monasteries of Murići. Includes lunch and transport (dinner can be taken at
Murići for extra cost).*
Adriatic sunset cruise: Head out on a skippered yacht for a private cruise around the stunning Boka Kotorska (Kotor
bay) and Tivat marina, with complimentary G&Ts and transport to and from the coast included!*

Bird-watching: Head out onto the lake with a birding expert for a day to track down
pygmy cormorant, great egrets and the rare Dalmatian pelican!*
Fishing trip: Fancy your chances at catching your own supper? Well here's your chance. A local fishermen will take you out on his private
boat for the day and show you how it's done as you angle for carp, trout, bleak and eel (English spoken).
Wine Tasting: A fab tour of Crmnica Valley, Montenegro's wine-country, renowned for the smooth red vranac grape. Includes tastings at
